Greer was a toddler when she fainted at pre-school. Her mum Karlene took her to the doctor for a blood test suspecting anaemia.
That very night Greer was admitted to Starship Hospital after being diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL). She had surgery the next morning.

Greer’s diagnosis was followed by an intensive month of aggressive chemotherapy and a further 2½ years of daily chemotherapy treatment.

Since then there have been many trips back and forth to hospital and many ups and downs but Greer is now thankfully in remission.

“Greer’s strength and personality have helped us all to get through a really difficult time for the whole family”, says Karlene.
Greer loves to sing, dance and cycle. She is a sporty girl who loves the outdoors and having fun.

“Each individual in your team is so special. But together you are a force so strong and capable of so much. We thank you for all that you do every day to help Kiwi kids like Greer”, says Karlene.

Cure Kids has funded research into child cancers including acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL).
