At only fifteen-months-old, Lucian spent six months in Blenheim Hospital waiting for a diagnosis.

Lucian’s illness was caught early, however, the doctors had to wait for it to form and become a higher percentage in his body before they could be 100% certain that it was in fact leukemia.

Whilst Lucian’s leukemia was caught early, this did not change the amount of treatment he would have to go through.

Lucian was treated with chemotherapy every day for three and a half years. There were two months during this period, which the doctors were not sure if he was going to make it. It was a scary time for his family.

Almost four years on, Lucian’s illness has just become a part of his life. His family have learnt to adapt with his ongoing tests and hospital visits.

Lucian is on the road to recovery and still enjoys the life of a kid. His favourite things at the moment are helicopters, trains, building Lego and playing in sandpits!

Lucian’s family consists of mum Nikki, stepdad Morgan, little brother Braxton, Nana and Poppa and the family dog, named Haze.
