NZ Rugby's incredibly humble Patty T is one of Cure Kids ambassadors who generously gives his time and support to help with various fundraising events. We asked Patty to answer a few questions about himself and why he's involved with Cure Kids.
Tell us a bit about yourself
Originally born in Christchurch, I attended St Peters college and played rugby right through. I have been playing for ‘The Ponies’ (as club-members are known) since I was at primary school. I was also the first of the 2013 New Zealand Under 20 side to be named as a full member of the All Blacks squad.
Why Cure Kids?
I had a childhood that was hard as we had nothing, and after meeting children going through hard times themselves while battling terminal or lifelong health conditions, I realised I can make a difference to their lives. Being able to bring some happiness to these children and their families while also helping fund research into the conditions affecting them is the best.
Tell us a fun fact …
I’m actually missing my front tooth. Showing people is my party trick!
