Dr Taylor’s research has addressed some of the impacts of Attention-deficit/ hyperactivity disorder across the lifespan and she continues to engage in research projects working with children with ADHD with a renewed focus on early intervention.
Dr Taylor is a registered clinical psychologist who is employed as a lecturer in Counselling in the School of Health Sciences, University of Canterbury. Dr Taylor recently returned with her family from a position as a research scientist at a graduate university in Okinawa, Japan.
Before this, she worked in private practice in Christchurch with a number of NGOs, working with children, youth, adults and their family/ whanau. Dr Taylor comes from a long line of travellers/ adventurers, with parents born in India and Fiji and a grandmother born in China.
Dr Taylor enjoys working cross-culturally with individuals from diverse cultural, language, gender and sexuality backgrounds and speaks Japanese and Te Reo Māori. Dr Taylor’s research has addressed some of the impacts of Attention-deficit/ hyperactivity disorder across the lifespan and she continues to engage in research projects working with children with ADHD with a renewed focus on early intervention. Incorporating her previous care and protection work as a social worker, Dr Taylor is also engaged in on-going research projects such as family violence programme evaluations and trauma-informed child mental health care.
