Teresea is a Senior Research Fellow and has been working for the University of Auckland since 2015. Before moving to New Zealand in March 2015 she was employed as an Adjunct Professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2009-2015) and at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2006-2009), Brazil. Her areas of research expertise/interests are: Nutritional Epidemiology; Monitoring of Population Nutrition and; Monitoring of Food Environments.
