Dr Andrew McDaid

Born and bred in Auckland, Andrew studied mechatronics (robotics) engineering and has a passion for using these skills to help improve the lives of other people

Dr Andrew McDaid’s main research interests are in developing robotics that can be worn on the body to help people with neurological injuries or diseases, rehabilitate and/or train to improve their abilities.

A secondary goal is to use these intelligent robotics devices to collect data to help provide insights and in-depth fundamental understanding of impairment and subsequent recovery. He is driven to translate his research into clinical practice in order to facilitate improved health outcomes for the many individuals suffering from neurological injuries or diseases.
