Dr Frank Bloomfield's research focuses on the role of nutrition in fetal and neonatal growth and development.

Dr Frank Bloomfield is a neonatal paediatrician who trained in the UK, Auckland and Canada. He is also the Director of the Liggins Institute at the University of Auckland. He practises clinically at National Women’s Health in Auckland and undertakes research that spans from basic science through to clinical trials. Much of his research focuses on the role of nutrition in fetal and neonatal growth and development. He is passionate about the multidisciplinary nature of neonatal care and thinks that we set an excellent example of this in New Zealand.
