Dr Sarah Fortune is a clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents and their families on suicide prevention
Dr Sarah Fortune is a senior lecturer in Psychological Medicine at the University of Otago, Dunedin. She has worked for more than 20 years as a clinical psychologist with children, adolescents and their families in both New Zealand and abroad. Her clinical experience spans both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Her academic research interests include the epidemiology of self-harm and suicide, treatment interventions, service provision for those experiencing suicidal distress, staff attitudes and service user experiences of self-harm services in addition to population-level suicide prevention strategies. Sarah is also the deputy chair of the Suicide Mortality Review Committee.
