Avis Budget Group Auckland Golf Day 2017
Avis Budget Group held their annual Auckland Cure Kids Golf Day at the Aviation Golf Club on the 23rd of March, bringing it to life with a Hawaiian theme.
The golf day raised a total of $25,000. This, together with funds raised from branches throughout the country contributes towards their minimum annual fundraising target of $100,000 for Cure Kids.
The Avis Budget Group team ran an incredible, fun and exciting event, complimented by an overflowing breakfast BBQ and coffee stall awaiting all the golfers as they arrived. Despite a morning downpour, the sun reigned supreme as the day progressed, entertaining the field in what was a golfing spectacle.
Over the 18 hole course, 17 different sponsors showed off a variety of attractions and competitions which ranged from Tesla; who showed off a couple of their electronic cars, to Heritage Hotels; who ran a dart throwing activation giving punters the opportunity to win accommodation packages all over New Zealand.
A major highlight was seeing Eva, one of our ambassadors, take the stand at the post event function and speak about her health journey living with MRSA and gut failure. Eva’s story touched the hearts of everyone in the room and reminded all of us how important it is to dig deep and support life saving research.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated and supported the Avis Budget Group fundraiser. Special thanks to all the sponsors and Cure Kids partners: Bike Barn, Qantas and NZ Pearl for their generous donations towards the auction and raffle prizes.
